TOUCHSTONE SIGN NEW DISTRIBUTION AGREEMENT WITH PLASTIC HEAD

TOUCHSTONE are delighted to announce that terms with their independently-owned label, Heavy Right Foot Records, have been agreed and that a new distribution agreement with Plastic Head Distribution Limited is to come into effect from 1st October 2010. The agreement will cover all territories outside of the USA.

Currently ranked the UK’s 10th largest distributor, Plastic Head has come a long way in its 15 year existence. Started from Director Steve Beatty’s bedroom at his parent's house, the company currently employs 40 people, exclusively handles sales and distribution in the UK for 170 record and DVD labels (over 30,000 titles), a range of over 3,000 titles of merchandise and 4,000 titles of specialist vinyl from limited edition 7 inch box sets, picture discs to electronic 12’s. The company is also unusual in the fact that it owns its own business premises.

Whilst Plastic Head carries a diverse range of music and DVD titles, it is known for being a specialist in rock genres.

In a statement, founding band member Rob Cottingham said: “I would like to thank all at Proper Music for their help during the last two and a half years. As the band has grown, however, so the time has come to set up a distribution structure more geared to the market we are in. We are, therefore, absolutely delighted to have hooked up with Steve and Plastic Head as Touchstone’s main distributor. When you see that they distribute for the likes of Asia, Deep Purple, ELP, Focus, Foreigner, Marillion, Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree and Rush to name but a few - you can probably imagine how pleased we are to start distributing via a channel more focussed on the rock market. We believe this will help take us to the next level in terms of distribution, and therefore album sales. The whole band are excited by this development, and we are greatly looking forward to working with Steve, Ben and David to help push the band’s name to territories anew.”
